About the job

Aviation security involves measures aimed at preventing criminal and illegal acts directed against civil aviation. The goal of aviation security is to protect passengers, staff, the public, and property from illegal acts. Illegal acts include criminal attacks such as sabotage, hijackings, and hostage-taking.

The section for aviation security is responsible for regulatory development, licensing, and oversight within the field of aviation security. The section also handles the area of facilitation, which deals with various flows in aviation, such as border control and rights for persons with disabilities in connection with air travel. Our section has many interesting challenges, and we therefore need to recruit for our operations.

You will

• participate in regulatory projects
• prepare, design, and present various types of administrative decisions
• participate in the review of internal and external investigations, consultations, and materials
• participate in international work within aviation security
• participate in other tasks within the section.

You must have

• relevant academic degree in, for example, law, social sciences, international studies, or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way
• very good ability to produce materials for decisions, consultations, and investigations
• very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English
• experience in interpreting and applying legislation.

It is meritorious if you also have

• work experience from civil aviation
• experience in international work, for example within EU institutions
• experience in public authority exercise.

• be self-driven with high engagement and take great personal responsibility
• have an approach characterized by good collaboration skills, be attentive, and work for the benefit of the group

More information

The employment is permanent with placement in Norrköping. Appointment according to agreement. We normally apply a probationary period. Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with background checks according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted. For some of our tasks in the security class, Swedish citizenship is required.

About Transportstyrelsen

Number of employees: Approximately 2000.

Areas of operation: Transportstyrelsen works to achieve good accessibility, high quality, safe, and environmentally friendly transport within rail, aviation, shipping, and road. We develop regulations, issue permits, and monitor compliance. With the help of our registers, we work with fees, permits, and ownership changes.

Locations: We have employees in 12 locations across the country. The largest part of the operations is in Borlänge, Norrköping, and Örebro.

The head office is located in Norrköping.

About the Maritime and Aviation Department

The Maritime and Aviation Department contributes to a competitive, environmentally friendly, and safe transport system. We do this by maintaining registers, developing regulations, assessing and issuing permits, and exercising supervision. We also operate in many contexts on the international stage.

We are located in Norrköping, Gothenburg, Malmö, and Stockholm and have approximately 300 employees organized into six units and one staff unit.
